Kentucky LIHEAP Fall Subsidy will enroll households from November 9 – December 18, 2026.

LIHEAP Fall Subsidy is designed to help households offset their heating costs with a one-time benefit, which is paid directly to the vendor. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, or until funds are depleted.

Attention: All clients must schedule an appointment with their local agency. A valid photo ID is required at the time of your appointment.

Eligibility Requirements

Households must meet eligibility requirements, including household income of up to and including 150 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines to qualify for assistance.

Applicants are required to provide the following documentation at the time of application:

1. Proof of Social Security Number or Permanent Resident Card (Green Card) for each member of the household.
2. Proof of income for all household members from the preceding month.
3. Most current electric bill, a statement from your landlord if heating costs are included in your rent, or a statement from the utility company if you participate in a Pre-Pay Electric Program.
4. The account number and name on the account for main heating fuel sources and electric bill.
5. LIHEAP Fall Subsidy does not require a disconnect notice, a past due bill, or eviction notice. The Subsidy benefit may be applied as a credit to the household’s account. Assistance received during previous LIHEAP seasons does not affect household eligibility.

Community Action Council for Lexington-Fayette, Bourbon, Harrison and Nicholas Counties, Inc. (Community Action Council) administers LIHEAP in partnership with the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, which receives funding as a pass-through block grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Community Action Council directly provides LIHEAP assistance to eligible residents in its four core counties of Lexington-Fayette, Bourbon, Harrison, and Nicholas.
