Weatherization
The Weatherization Program Provides energy conservation improvements to the dwelling of low income families residing in poorly insulated homes. The cost effective home improvements are designed to make homes safer and provide healthier living environments for families.
Who's Eligible?
Federal income guidelines must be met and the income guidelines are based on 125% of the poverty level. Preference is given to the elderly and handicapped persons, but participants need not be either elderly or handicapped. The program is designed to identify those most in need who would benefit from weatherization conservation methods.
How to Apply
Your local Community Services office will help you with the application process. Here are the steps needed to successfully apply for the program:
- Call your local Community Services office and find out the specific items you will need to complete an application.
- After gathering all information needed, make an appointment with the local Community Action personnel.
- Complete an application and provide required documentation.
Completed applications are reviewed by our Weatherization department, and then prioritized utilizing a formal points system. An on-site inspection is executed to determine your homes weatherization needs, and to order materials. For more information, contact your county's Community Services office.
