Community Action’s Warren County Senior Center Offering Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program

Arthritis affects 50 million Americans and more than one million live in Kentucky. Arthritis is the leading cause of disability in the United States. It is a chronic disease that targets the joints of the body. Common symptoms include joint pain, aching, stiffness and swelling. Though arthritis tends to be debilitating, it can be effectively managed through a variety of methods. Research has shown that exercise is an essential tool in controlling arthritic pain and fatigue.

On January 24, 2017, Community Action of Southern Kentucky’s Warren County Senior Services will be offering an Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program. The 8-week program is designed for people with arthritis to reduce pain and stiffness, help maintain or improve mobility, muscle strength, and functional ability. Arthritis sufferers of all ages and mobility levels can benefit from the low impact course. Class leaders design each class to meet the needs of all participants. Classes will be held every Tuesday and Thursday at 11:30am.

For more information or to sign up for the program, please contact 270-783-4484.
