Head Start

Head Start is a child development program serving three and four year old children from income-eligible families, in every county of our 10-county service area.

The following services are provided:

• Education in a learning environment
• Comprehensive health services
• Disability services for individuals with special needs
• Nutrition education
• Social services
• Speech and hearing screenings
• Nutritious meals
• Parent involvement and training opportunities

Who's eligible?

You may apply if...

• Your child will be 3 or 4 before October 1st.
• Your family's income falls within established poverty guidelines.

Before your child may enroll...

• Your child must have an up-to-date immunization record.
• Your child must have proof of a recent physical exam.

Funding Source

Head Start is a Federally funded program through an annual grant from the Department of Health and Human Services/Administration for children and families.
