The Food Service Program is a full participant in the United States Department of Agriculture Child and Adult Care Food Program.
Summer Food Service
The Summer Food Service provides nutritious lunches to teens and children during the summer months as an extension of the school lunch program. This service is funded through an entitlement program from the United States Department of Agriculture.
Goals
Provide participating children nutritious and healthy meals to ensure their continued success in physical and mental development.
Criteria for Eligibility
- Children age 12 and younger are eligible to receive up to two meals and one snack each day at a day care, home or center, through Child and Adult Care Food Program.
- Children who reside in homeless shelters may receive up to three reimbursable meals each day.
- Migrant children age 15 and younger and persons with disabilities, regardless of their age, are also eligible for the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
- Afterschool snacks are available to children through age 18.
Funding Source
The Food Service Program is funded by The United States Department of Agriculture's Child and Adult Care Food Program, Community Action's child care and Head Start programs, and catering revenues.
