Community Services
Our Community Services staff in our 10-county area administer individual and community services to address the causes and conditions of poverty. Staff may manage a subsidized program, mobilize community resources, or serve as an advocate to meet an apparent need.
Coordinators based in each county administer services in eleven areas to help limited-resource families improve their living conditions.
- Employment
- Education
- Housing
- Self-sufficiency
- Emergency services
- Community participation
- Nutrition
- Health
- Use of income
- Youth development
- Economic development
Who's Eligible?
Many of of our Community Service programs are designed to help low-income families, so income is often a factor in determining eligibility. While it varies from program to program, incomes from 110% to 150% of the national poverty level are generally eligible.
Community Service Programs
Our Community Service workers strengthen your community through many different programs:
- Garden Program
- Scholarship Program
- Supportive Housing
- LIHEAP (Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program)
- Family Self-Sufficiency Program
- Emergency Food and Shelter Program
For more information on any of the above programs, please visit each sites' corresponding page or contact your local Community Services office.
